"Assassination Classroom the Movie : Our Time" will be released nationwide on Friday, March 20, 2026. Based on the manga "Assassination Classroom" by Yusei Matsui, the anime celebrates the 10th anniversary of the conclusion of its serialization in "Weekly Shonen Jump" and the end of the TV anime broadcast last year. Serving as the grand finale to the "Anime 'Assassination Classroom' 10th Anniversary Time" project, an original manga episode never before seen in the TV anime is being completely newly animated.

Only 15 days remain until the deadline to assassinate Koro-sensei, the super-creature and homeroom teacher of Class 3-E at Kunugigaoka Junior High School—. Set in a timeline just before graduation, the students of Class 3-E look back on the many memories they shared with Koro-sensei, while an extra chapter depicting Koro-sensei's escapades during winter break is also adapted into anime.

With the feel of a 10-year reunion, fans will be able to reunite with Koro-sensei and the classmates of 3-E in theaters.

In this article, we interviewed Mai Fuchigami, who plays Class 3-E student Nagisa Shiota, and Nobuhiko Okamoto, who plays Karma Akabane. In addition to Nagisa, Fuchigami also voices Hotaru, a character appearing in the aforementioned extra episode in this movie. Here is what they had to say about their first recording session in roughly 10 years.

-- As the grand finale of the "Assassination Classroom" 10th-anniversary project, "Assassination Classroom the Movie : Our Time" is hitting theaters. Has it been about 10 years since the two of you participated in a recording session for this?

Okamoto: That's right. Over these 10 years, there weren't even any game recordings. However, we did have regular drinking parties at Matsui-sensei's house (lol).

Fuchigami: Oh yeah! We do that about once a year (lol).

-- Is that with the cast of the "Assassination Classroom" anime?

Fuchigami: Not everyone, but some of the staff who worked on the TV anime also come. It's really a gathering of all sorts of people.

-- So the relationships between the people involved in the project have remained strong.

Okamoto: Yes, exactly. But it really had been about 10 years since we last recorded, with a complete gap in between.
