Guests Can Use Magic Too?! A "Super-Immersive" Walkthrough Attraction for Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Arrives at USJ on May 30

It has been announced that a limited-time attraction, marking the first collaboration with the TV anime Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, will appear at "Universal Cool Japan 2026," a special event currently being held at Universal Studios Japan.

The new attraction, Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Story Walk ~Journey of Memories~, will run from Saturday, May 30, 2026, to Monday, January 11, 2027. It will debut as the first installment of the park's brand-new format, "Universal Story Walk."

"Universal Story Walk" is a super-immersive walkthrough attraction where guests explore on their own two feet. Through the fusion of cutting-edge technology and creativity—including immersive visuals on giant screens and projection mapping, dynamic lighting and audio, and meticulously recreated sets and props—the "world where magic exists" as depicted in Frieren: Beyond Journey's End will appear ultra-realistically before your eyes.

In this attraction, guests visit the magical city of Äußerst as travelers and encounter Frieren, Fern, and Stark. Invited into the grimoire archives of the Continental Magic Association, the story unfolds as Frieren discovers a "magic to relive the past." Precious memories of the journey—such as the Era Meteors (Half-Century Meteors), the meeting with Fern, intense battles against demons, and the statue of Himmel surrounded by a field of Blue Moon Weeds—appear one after another. In addition to high-impact magic like "Zoltraak" recreated on giant screens and props such as Frieren’s staff, there are also participatory elements where guests themselves can manipulate magic.

Ahead of the opening, new TV commercials will begin airing sequentially starting Wednesday, March 25, in most regions. Furthermore, this collaboration will also feature Frieren: Beyond Journey's End x Story Ride and Frieren: Beyond Journey's End ~Restaurant of Memories~.
