The production of TV anime "Ranma 1/2" Season 3 has been confirmed, and it was announced that it will begin broadcasting on Nippon TV in October 2026, with sequential nationwide broadcasting on the Nippon TV network. Along with this announcement, the first teaser PV & visual were released.
"Ranma 1/2" is based on the popular comic by Rumiko Takahashi, serialized in "Weekly Shonen Sunday." When father Genma Saotome (CV. Chō) and his son Ranma (CV. Kappei Yamaguchi), who had been training in China, arrive at the Tendo household, what appears before them is a giant panda and a cute girl!? As a result of his training in China, Ranma has acquired a mysterious condition where he transforms into a girl when splashed with cold water and returns to being a boy when splashed with hot water... This is a timeless, invincible martial arts romantic comedy where characters cry, laugh, and occasionally fall in love.
The Season 3 teaser visual depicts Ranma and Ryōga facing each other with sharp gazes, with Ryōga striking a pose reminiscent of his special technique "Bakusai Tenketsu." In the simultaneously released first teaser PV, it begins with a scene where Cologne makes a proposal to Ryōga as he punches a wall, revealing that Season 3 will feature episodes related to "Bakusai Tenketsu." The footage focuses on battle scenes even more than Seasons 1 and 2.
The production staff will continue from Seasons 1 and 2, with Konosuke Uda serving as director and MAPPA handling the animation production.
Furthermore, Season 2 will begin broadcasting on BS Nippon TV starting April 3, 2026, every Friday at 26:00. Additionally, a collaboration event with Yokohama Chinatown is scheduled to take place starting April 10, 2026.
