Look Closely and You'll See Kuromubeshi Too... Strong Reaction to Original Illustration by Gege Akutami Released Just Before the Final Episode of "Jujutsu Kaisen" Season 3 "Culling Game: Part 1"

On the official Jujutsu Kaisen X account, an original illustration by the creator Gege Akutami was released in anticipation of the broadcast of TV anime "Jujutsu Kaisen" Season 3 "Culling Game: Part 1" Episode 59 (final episode) "Sendai Barrier," generating significant buzz.

The released image features powerful monochrome depictions of Yūta Okkotsu, one of the main protagonists, as well as Ryū Ishigori and Takako Uro, who engaged in fierce battles in the series. Furthermore, in the upper right corner of the illustration, a handwritten message reads "Anime Culling Game (Part 1) final episode airs tonight!! Make sure to watch it!!" with a small figure of Kuromubeshi visible beside it.

In response to this post, comments on social media praised it with remarks such as "The illustration is so cool..." and "Okkotsu is too cool," while others expressed joy at the detailed depiction, saying "I thought he wasn't there, but Kuromubeshi was actually included..." On the other hand, there were also voices expressing regret about the program's conclusion, lamenting "Is it already the final episode?"

The anime "Jujutsu Kaisen" is based on the manga of the same name by Gege Akutami, which has surpassed 150 million copies in cumulative circulation. The story begins when Yūji Itadori (CV: Junya Enoki) comes to share his body with the King of Curses "Ryomen Sukuna" and enrolls in the curse-fighting specialized institution "Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College." The original manga concluded in 2024. Starting in September 2025, the spin-off "Jujutsu Kaisen ≡ (Modulo)" with original story by Akutami and art by Yuji Iwasaki was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) and reached its final chapter on March 9, 2026.
