New Anime "The Ghost in the Shell" Unveils 2nd Key Visual & Latest PV Featuring Motoko and Fuchikoma

The second key visual and second promotional video for the latest TV anime "The Ghost in the Shell" have been released.

This information was released in conjunction with the opening of "AnimeJapan 2026," one of the world's largest anime events. The "Ghost in the Shell" series has been a landmark of cyberpunk science fiction that has continued to inspire and stimulate audiences worldwide since Masamune Shirow released the original comic in 1989. The latest TV animation "The Ghost in the Shell" will begin broadcasting in July 2026 on the new nationwide Kansai TV and Fuji TV network time slot "Ka Ani Baru!!" every Tuesday at 11:00 PM.

The released second key visual features the protagonist Motoko Kusanagi, a full-body cyborg, and Fuchikoma, an AI-equipped think tank. It is an original illustration by Shuhei Handa, who serves as character designer and chief animation director for this work, and the artwork embodies the iconic visuals from past "Ghost in the Shell" series.

Additionally, the second promotional video is composed of new footage from the anime's main episodes, offering a glimpse of the dynamic action and drama featuring the distinctive members of Public Security Section 9, the Ghost in the Shell squad, depicted in this work.

At the Bandai Namco Filmworks booth (East Hall 7, A22) at "AnimeJapan 2026," to be held at Tokyo Big Sight on Saturday, March 28th and Sunday, March 29th, the newly unveiled second key visual and second promotional video will be exhibited. Inside the booth, visitors can enjoy a space that expresses the world of the work, featuring Shuhei Handa's original illustration of Motoko Kusanagi, a life-size acrylic stand of the second key visual, as well as never-before-seen scene photographs and concept art. Furthermore, a Fuchikoma meet & greet is scheduled to take place during the event period.
