Anime "Inherit the Winds " Unveils New PV with First-Time Voice Reveals for Hijikata Toshizo & Kondo Isami! Nichika Ōmori Confirmed as Kurosuke, the Shinsengumi's Cat

A new PV for the TV anime "Inherit the Winds " has been released, revealing that the series will air starting January 2027 on the "Agaru Anime" slot (Sundays at 11:30 PM) across 28 CBC/TBS-affiliated stations nationwide. Additionally, a theatrical advance screening has been confirmed for release in 2026.

This production is a collaboration between three companies—Aniplex, Live2D, and Drive—depicting the fleeting youth of young people who lived through a turbulent era as an original TV animation with meticulous portrayal and fresh interpretation, creating a new-sensation authentic period drama animation. The staff lineup includes director Kawamura Tomohiro, scriptwriter Narui Yutaka, and composer Kishida Shigeru, challenging new visual expression with the Shinsengumi as the subject matter.

The newly released PV features main characters including the protagonist Tachikawa Jinsuke (CV: Sakuma Daisuke), who has lost his memory, along with Okita Soji (CV: Kaji Yuki) and Koganei Hyogo (CV: Yuki Aoi). Furthermore, the video unveils for the first time the character voices of Mibu Roshigumi Vice-Commander Hijikata Toshizo (CV: Uchiyama Koki) and Commander Kondo Isami (CV: Nakamura Yuichi), resulting in a production packed with the charm of each character.

Nichika Ōmori, known for roles such as Tsukikawa Chiri in "PriPara" and Hanazono Yurine in "Jashin-chan Dropkick," has been confirmed to voice Kurosuke, the cat living at the Shinsengumi's headquarters who displays adorable meows in the PV.

Additionally, new character visual posters for Hijikata Toshizo and Kondo Isami have been released simultaneously.
