"Eva Japonisme" is an art project produced by the "Evangelion" series and Hanmii Co., Ltd., a ukiyo-e publisher that carries on the ukiyo-e culture continuing from the Edo period into the modern era. The release of the "Eva Kabuki" series, the second installment of "Eva Japonisme," has now been announced.

"Evangelion" is an anime work that sparked a social phenomenon with the 1995 TV series "Neon Genesis Evangelion." It depicts the protagonist Shinji Ikari (CV: Megumi Ogata) and other boys and girls piloting the multi-purpose humanoid decisive weapon "Evangelion" and fighting against mysterious enemies called "Angels." After the four-part "Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition" series from 2007 and reaching its conclusion with "Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time" in 2021, its popularity continues unabated to this day.

The origin of this work was "Kabuki Symphony No. Q Evangelion," performed on February 23rd (Mon., National Holiday) at the STAGE AREA of "EVANGELION:30+; 30th ANNIVERSARY OF EVANGELION," the first 30th anniversary festival event for the "Evangelion" series. The commercialization of this "Eva Kabuki" series was realized through the creation of its iconic key visual by Hanmii artist Yoshiyuki Ebata and the teaser visual by artist Izumo.

The world of "Eva," where the kabuki performed at the festival event has been sublimated into the aesthetic style of ukiyo-e. The supreme collection of all 7 works (including sets) will go on sale from noon on Monday, March 30th.
