On March 28, a special pre-broadcast stage for the TV anime "ONE PIECE" Elbaf Arc was held at "AnimeJapan 2026." On stage, official announcements were made regarding the latest promotional video (PV), theme song details, and the casting of Yuichi Nakamura as the new character, Loki.
"ONE PIECE" is a grand maritime adventure story created by Eiichiro Oda. It follows the journey of young Monkey D. Luffy and his "Straw Hat Crew," a group bound by deep ties, as they sharpen their unique abilities and skills while traveling across the world's seas to reach the ultimate goal of becoming the Pirate King.
The series began its serialization in "Weekly Shonen Jump" Issue 34 on July 22, 1997, and celebrated its 25th anniversary in July 2022. As of March 4, the cumulative worldwide circulation of its manga volumes has surpassed 600 million copies. The "ONE PIECE" Elbaf Arc is set to premiere on TV on Sunday, April 5, at 11:15 PM. Starting April 11, it will also be available for free on ABEMA every Saturday at 10:00 PM (simulcast/real-time only). Meanwhile, Season 2 of the highly anticipated Netflix live-action series, which debuted globally in August 2023, began streaming on March 10.
Theme Song for the Elbaf Arc Confirmed
During the stage event, it was announced via live broadcast that AiNA THE END’s new song "Luminous" has been selected as the opening theme for the Elbaf Arc. Chopper made a surprise appearance at Nippon Maru Memorial Park, where AiNA THE END was holding a free live performance with the iconic "Sailing Ship Nippon Maru"—reminiscent of a pirate ship—as her backdrop. The new song was unveiled for the first time by connecting the special stage with the live broadcast.
The opening theme "Luminous" will see a partial pre-release on social media starting Sunday, March 29, followed by a full digital release on various music streaming services on April 3. Additionally, the ending theme was announced as the new song "Sono Mirai" by the rock band Jisoku 36km.
