The final chapter of the TV anime Golden Kamuy, which brings the story of the northern lands and the search for gold to its conclusion, has been confirmed to air this winter as the "Runaway Train Arc." Along with this announcement, a teaser visual capturing the world of this upcoming arc has been released.
Golden Kamuy is an animated series based on the manga by Satoru Noda, which was serialized in Weekly Young Jump (Shueisha). Set in Hokkaido during the late Meiji era, it depicts a survival struggle revolving around gold stolen from the Ainu people. The series is a massive hit, winning first place in the Manga Taisho 2016 and the Grand Prize at the 22nd Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize, with over 30 million copies in circulation across its 31 volumes.
The newly released teaser visual captures the runaway train that signals the start of the final battle. The powerful image of the train, appearing to lure the strong into hell, leaves a vivid impression as the saga of the northern gold moves toward its climax.
Furthermore, ahead of the final chapter's premiere, re-broadcasts of the TV anime's first and second seasons will begin on BS11 starting Thursday, April 2, 2026. Two episodes are scheduled to air back-to-back every Thursday from 24:30. Each episode will also be available for one week of free streaming on TVer starting at 25:00 on the same day.
