10th Anniversary Key Visual Revealed: 32 Characters Drawn by Yoshihiko Umakoshi

Animator Yoshihiko Umakoshi has served as character designer since the first season, creating 37 iconic visuals for the series, including teaser and key visuals for all eight seasons and four movies. Following the special visual released in December 2025, Umakoshi has drawn a new 10th Anniversary Key Visual for this milestone.

This visual features a record-breaking 32 characters, including 21 students from U.A. High Class 1-A (such as Deku and Katsuki Bakugo), five Pro Heroes including All Might, and six members of the League of Villains led by Tomura Shigaraki. The background intentionally pays homage to the design of the Season 1 key visual from 2016, showcasing how much the anime has evolved over the past decade. This visual will serve as the "face" of the 10th anniversary and will be featured on various upcoming merchandise.

Visual Revealed for "More," the Story of Deku and Friends 8 Years Later, Airing May 2nd

As part of the anniversary, the additional episode "More"—which was drawn specifically for the final 42nd volume of the manga and did not appear in the original Weekly Shonen Jump run—will be animated. A new visual for this episode, set to broadcast on May 2nd, has been released.

In the final episode (Manga Ch. 430 / Anime Ep. 170), the story jumped ahead eight years after graduation. Deku became a teacher at U.A. High, while Bakugo and the rest of Class 1-A flourished as Pro Heroes. The series ended with Deku returning to the field as a hero after receiving a specialized suit funded by his classmates. The "More" episode will delve deeper into the lives of the adult Deku and his friends during this eight-year gap.

The new visual depicts Deku, Bakugo, Shoto Todoroki, and Tenya Iida rushing to a scene, followed by Ochaco Uraraka and Tsuyu Asui. It features the catchphrase: "Even 8 years later, we continue to reach out." The image poignantly captures their growth into adulthood.

My Hero Academia No. 170+1 "More" will air on May 2nd at 5:30 PM JST across 29 stations nationwide, including Yomiuri TV and Nippon TV (excluding some areas).

Special Screening Event: Reliving Iconic Match-ups

To celebrate the series' history of intense battles, a special screening project will bring iconic character "match-ups" to theaters in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, and other cities. Starting May 16th, different pairings will be highlighted in multiple screening rounds.

The first round focuses on "Ochaco Uraraka x Himiko Toga." It will feature five episodes detailing the deep, complex relationship between the hero Ochaco and the villain Toga. The screenings will include stage greetings by Ayane Sakura (voice of Ochaco) and Misato Fukuen (voice of Toga).

Since the episode "More" (airing May 2nd) will be included in the screening, fans are eager to hear the actors' thoughts on the new content. Details on theaters and tickets will be announced at a later date.

ANI-ROCK FES. 2026 "PLUS ULTRA LIVE" in November
