The TV anime "Akane-banashi" officially began its broadcast on April 4. To mark the premiere, the creditless opening sequence, a new promotional CM, and information regarding additional cast members have been released.

This series is based on the manga written by Yuki Suenaga and illustrated by Takamasa Moue, currently serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump. It tells an authentic Rakugo story following the protagonist, Akane Osaki—who was captivated by her father's performance as a storyteller—as she strives to reach the highest rank of "Shin'uchi" in the Rakugo world.

The newly released creditless opening sequence features the theme song "Hitotarashi," Keisuke Kuwata's first-ever original song written specifically for a TV anime. The high-energy visuals depict Akane flying through the sky on a zabuton cushion and the members of the Arakawa Shiguma School dancing along to the chorus.

Furthermore, the voice cast for characters appearing in the first episode has been revealed. Fumihiko Tachiki joins the cast as Zensho Arakawa, Hiroaki Hirata as Ikken Arakawa, Shizuka Ito as Masaki Osaki, Yumiko Konatsu as Saki Yoshino, and Ryota Iwasaki as Hirohisa Kashio.
