Kohei Horikoshi, the creator of My Hero Academia, has updated his official X account with an illustration of Himiko Toga to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the TV anime, sparking a massive reaction online.
Along with the comment, "Sorry for the late greeting, but Happy New Year! Congratulations on the anime's 10th anniversary! Incredible! This is a 'blood dress' Toga-chan I drew to pass the time," a single illustration was shared. The image features a handwritten message: "Congratulations on 10 years of the MHA anime!!!!!!! Amazing!" and depicts Himiko Toga clad in a "blood dress" connected to numerous blood packs and tubes while holding a giant syringe-like weapon. It is a meticulous and powerful piece that feels far too detailed to have been drawn just to pass the time.
In response to this post, fans have flooded the comments with praise and gratitude: "Amazing artistic sense," "So powerful and cool," "I can't wait for the new project," and "As a Toga-chan fan, I'm like 'this is too much'... but thank you, Sensei!"
My Hero Academia is a smash-hit manga by Kohei Horikoshi. Set in a world where supernatural abilities called Quirks are the norm, it follows the growth of the formerly Quirkless protagonist, Izuku Midoriya, who inherits a Quirk from the No. 1 Hero, All Might, and strives to become a pro hero. Himiko Toga is a popular character who appears as a member of the League of Villains, possessing a Quirk that allows her to transform into others by consuming their blood.
