Shiguma Chooses Akane Over Guriko... Akane-banashi Episode 2 Synopsis and Preview Stills Released

The synopsis and preview stills for Episode 2 of the anime Akane-banashi have been released.

This series is based on the popular manga currently serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump (Original Story: Yuki Suenaga / Art: Takamasa Moue). It tells an authentic rakugo story following the protagonist, Akane (CV: Anna Nagase), who was captivated by the rakugo of her father, Shinta (CV: Jun Fukuyama), as she pushes forward to reach the highest rank of "Shin'uchi." The broadcast began on April 4th (Sat) at 11:30 PM on the TV Asahi network's "IMAnimation" block, and early streaming has been available on ABEMA since midnight on April 5th (Sun).

■ Episode 2: "The First Stage"
[Synopsis]
Arakawa Guriko, a novice "Futatsume" (second-rank) performer, hears a rumor that his master, Arakawa Shiguma, is secretly meeting a young woman and begins an investigation. He discovers Shiguma at a karaoke box, giving lessons to a high school girl named Akane. Around that time, Shiguma receives word that an additional performer is urgently needed for a show at a "Rakugo Cafe." Instead of the experienced Guriko, Shiguma nominates Akane.
