Akita takes 1st place, Nagano 2nd! Jujutsu Kaisen viewership rankings by prefecture announced!

ABEMA has announced the top five prefectures with the highest average viewership per person for the TV anime Jujutsu Kaisen between January and March 2026.

Jujutsu Kaisen is based on the wildly popular manga by Gege Akutami, serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump (Shueisha). The story follows protagonist Yūji Itadori, who consumes the Special Grade Cursed Object "Ryomen Sukuna's Finger" and hosts a curse within his own soul, plunging him into a brutal battle between jujutsu sorcerers and cursed spirits.

Beloved for its deep world-building, gritty story, and intense battle scenes, the series has surpassed 150 million copies in circulation. Following the TV anime broadcasts in October 2020 and July 2023, the franchise's first film, Jujutsu Kaisen 0, a prequel to the main story, was released in December 2021. It became a massive hit, grossing over 26.5 billion yen worldwide with a total of 20.51 million admissions globally. In January 2026, the broadcast of the third season, "Culling Game Arc: Part 1," began.

This ranking was compiled by uniquely calculating the total viewership (including real-time broadcasts and on-demand streaming) for all Jujutsu Kaisen series aired on ABEMA between January 1 and March 10, 2026 (*). This marks the first time the top five prefectures by average viewership per person have been revealed.

ABEMA’s Jan-Mar 2026 Ranking: Highest Viewership Per Person by Prefecture

1st: Akita Prefecture
2nd: Nagano Prefecture
3rd: Tokushima Prefecture
4th: Miyazaki Prefecture
5th: Iwate Prefecture

Akita Prefecture emerged as the top region for Jujutsu Kaisen viewership on ABEMA during the period of January to March 2026. Among the top five prefectures are regions with fewer commercial broadcast channels compared to Tokyo, which often leads to delays in the broadcast dates and times for the latest anime episodes.

Under these circumstances, ABEMA aired the latest series, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3: "Culling Game Arc: Part 1," on the same day as terrestrial TV. Additionally, every episode from Season 1 through the latest episode of Season 3 was made available to stream for free throughout the Season 3 broadcast period.
