[Photos/Images] Junji Ito Releases Celebratory Illustration for DANDADAN's 5th Anniversary! Massive Response to Acrobatic Silky Reminiscent of Fuchi: "They're Too Perfect Together!!" 1st

On the official X account of the DANDADAN manga, which celebrated its 5th serialization anniversary, a celebratory illustration from horror manga artist Junji Ito has been released, causing quite a buzz.

The released illustration features Momo (Ayase Momo), Okarun (Takakura Ken), and Turbo Granny in maneki-neko form, drawn in Ito's characteristically intricate horror style, running with tense expressions. Behind them, a giant Acrobatic Silky is depicted with a wide-open mouth and an eerie smile, giving the entire illustration an ominous atmosphere. At the top, a message reading "Congratulations on DANDADAN's 5th Anniversary!" is included along with Ito's signature.

DANDADAN is a manga series currently being serialized in Shonen Jump+ by Yukinobu Tatsu. It depicts an occultic coming-of-age story in which Momo, a high school girl born into a family of spirit mediums, and Okarun, her classmate who is an occult enthusiast, visit a paranormal spot to prove the existence of what each of them believes in, which leads them to confront a succession of supernatural phenomena and aliens. The series has gained popularity for its overwhelming artistic skill and unpredictable story development, and a TV anime adaptation is currently airing.

Fans have expressed astonishment at this spectacular collaboration with comments such as "Junji Ito and DANDADAN are too perfect together!!" and "Wait... isn't this amazing?"
