The official X account for "Jujutsu Kaisen" has announced that the third and final volume of the near-future spin-off series, "Jujutsu Kaisen ≡ (Modulo)," will be released on May 1. Along with the announcement, the cover art was revealed for the first time, quickly becoming a hot topic among fans.
The revealed illustration for the final volume features the twin characters "Maru" and "Kurosu" (Cross). Set against a grand and vibrant background that looks as if they are gazing down at Earth from outer space, Maru is seen reaching out her hand in the foreground, while Kurosu is shown in profile in the background. Combined with the subtitle "A Bright Future," the visual creates an emotional atmosphere perfectly suited for the story's conclusion.
"Jujutsu Kaisen ≡ (Modulo)" is a near-future spin-off based on the smash-hit manga "Jujutsu Kaisen" by Gege Akutami, which depicts the battle between Jujutsu Sorcerers and Curses born from human negative emotions. With the original story by Gege Akutami and art by Yuji Iwasaki, the series has captivated readers with a world-view slightly different from the main story, a meticulous plot, and Iwasaki's stunning artwork.
In response to the reveal of the final volume's cover, fans have shared bittersweet comments such as, "It was so good, I wish it could have stayed in serialization longer," and "I'm sad to see it end, but I can't wait to read it." Others flooded the post with praise for the illustration and composition, saying, "It's so amazing that these two twins are gracing the final cover," "Maru and Kurosu having tears in their eyes is just too precious," "The cover is as God-tier as ever," and "When you see Iwasaki-sensei's delicate and beautiful lines in print, you realize even more how incredible they are."
