The anime "Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-" (commonly known as "Re:Zero") is based on the popular novel series (Original Work: Tappei Nagatsuki / Illustration: Shinichirou Otsuka), which has surpassed 16 million copies in circulation worldwide (including digital versions). It is a dark fantasy that follows Subaru Natsuki (CV: Yūsuke Kobayashi), who is suddenly transported to another world and must confront a cruel destiny using his "Return by Death" ability to rewind time whenever he dies.

Episode 69: "The Watchtower's Guardian"
[Synopsis]
A distortion in space caused by Yin magic leaves Subaru stranded deep beneath the sand dunes, where he is abruptly woken up by Ram. While he manages to reunite with Eridna and Patrasche, he finds himself separated from Emilia, Rem, and Beatrice. Although Ram is able to confirm that Rem is still alive thanks to their twin synesthesia, they are unable to find an exit nearby. To regroup with the others, Subaru and his companions begin their journey through a windless, cold underground passage where only the sound of their footsteps on the sand echoes.
