The first part of "Sound! Euphonium, The Final Movie" hit theaters on April 24. To coincide with the premiere, it was announced that the sequel, Part 2, will be released on September 11.
Alongside the release date, the trailer, the first key visual, and information for the first wave of Mubichike (advance tickets) for Part 2 were revealed all at once. The trailer focuses on the protagonist, Kumiko Oumae, and her rival, Mayu Kuroe. Combined with their lines, the footage conveys their conflict and resolve leading up to the "final performance." It also includes many new cuts, such as Mayu as a child and the brass band club's executive members looking up at the Century Hall of the Nagoya International Congress Center—the venue for the national competition.
Furthermore, the first key visual features Kumiko and Mayu performing on the euphonium with expressions of mixed determination and anxiety, accompanied by the catchphrase: "Feelings that cannot be yielded, a vow that will not waver."
The first wave of Mubichike for Part 2 features the key visual design. As a special bonus, it comes with a "Go out with Kumiko!" clear file, capturing a moment Kumiko spends with Shuichi, Reina, Mayu, and Kanade.
This work is the theatrical conclusion to the "Sound! Euphonium" anime series produced by Kyoto Animation. Under Chief Director Tatsuya Ishihara and Director Taichi Ogawa, Jukki Hanada has written a new scenario, adding numerous performance scenes and new footage not depicted in the TV series.
