The world-creation mystery-solving adventure game "Kami to Miko" was released on Thursday, April 23, 2026. Along with the release, the theme song "Namida to Katachi" was announced, featuring lyrics written by manga artist Aka Akasaka, best known as the creator of "Oshi No Ko" and the author of "Kaguya-sama: Love Is War."
In "Kami to Miko," the player takes on the role of a "Kami" (God) who uses modern knowledge and puzzle-solving skills to help a "Miko" (Shrine Maiden)—who reincarnates across different eras—solve various challenges throughout human history, from ancient times to the present day. The game's scenario and character designs were handled by the aforementioned Aka Akasaka, with puzzle production led by SCRAP CEO Takao Kato, and Shueisha Games participating as a co-producer. Two versions are available: the "Instant Play Edition," which can be played via a URL sent by email after purchase, and the limited "Kami to Miko no Souseiki" Special Edition, which comes with a setting guidebook and bonus puzzles.
The theme song "Namida to Katachi" was composed and arranged by Tadayuki Ito, with vocals by Ikkyu Nakajima from the four-piece rock band tricot. Currently, a short version of the music video featuring footage from the game has been pre-released, with the full version and digital distribution/sales on various streaming services and download sites scheduled for a later date.
To celebrate the release, a collaboration campaign will be held sequentially at 39 bookstores nationwide starting today. Customers who purchase the special edition "Kami to Miko no Souseiki" at participating stores will receive an original card (one design available) featuring the heroine, Miko. Additionally, life-sized panels of Miko will be on display at Shosen Book Tower, Kinokuniya Shinjuku Main Store, and HMV & BOOKS SHIBUYA from today until Sunday, May 24.
On the official X (formerly Twitter) account, countdown illustrations and the mystery-solving project "Miko no Kamissama Sagashi 2" have been underway since Thursday, April 16.
Furthermore, a talk show featuring development secrets and a signing session with the game's director, Takao Kato, will be held at Tokyo Mystery Circus on Tuesday, April 28, at 19:00. Tatsuya Aoki will serve as the moderator for the event.
