"The Quintessential Quintuplets" New Anime Project Starts! TV Anime Adaptation of the Novel "Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter" and a New OVA Confirmed

At "The Quintessential Quintuplets SPECIAL EVENT 2026 in TOYOTA ARENA TOKYO" held on May 2, the start of a new anime project for "The Quintessential Quintuplets" was announced, and the "The Quintessential Quintuplets New Anime Project Visual" and a teaser video were released.

"The Quintessential Quintuplets" is a manga series by Negi Haruba that was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Magazine" until February 2020, with the series recording over 20 million copies in total circulation to date. The first season of the TV anime aired from January to March 2019, and the second season aired from January to March 2021 on TBS and other stations. Since then, it has maintained its high popularity with the release of "The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie" in May 2022, and the theatrical screenings and TV broadcasts of the TV special animations "The Quintessential Quintuplets ∽" and "The Quintessential Quintuplets ＊."

At "The Quintessential Quintuplets SPECIAL EVENT 2026 in TOYOTA ARENA TOKYO," where the lead cast gathered, they played the "Quintuplets Game" during the talk and variety segment. A new live reading play was also performed, based on the picture book "The Quintessential Quintuplets: The Quintuplets and the Pancakes" (story and supervision by Negi Haruba, text by Masumi Asano, and illustrations by Monaka), with a script newly written by Keiichiro Ochi.

During the "Nakano Fes" live segment, ten songs were performed, including "Quintuple Smiles," the opening theme for the TV special "The Quintessential Quintuplets ＊"; "To Tomorrow," the theme song for the game "The Quintessential Princesses: Fantasy, the Abyss, and the Academy of Magic"; and the character song "Unfading Feelings" by Futaro Uesugi (CV: Yoshitsugu Matsuoka), bringing the event to a fever pitch.

As the first part of the new anime project announced during the event, a TV anime adaptation of "The Quintessential Quintuplets: Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter" has been confirmed. "The Quintessential Quintuplets: Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter" is a complete sequel novel written by Hajime Asano under the full supervision of the original creator, Negi Haruba, depicting the "continuation of the original story." A comicalization project for this work is also underway.

The second part of the project is the production of a "New OVA." This will newly animate episodes from the original manga that have not been depicted in previous anime series. It is expected to meet the expectations of fans who felt, "I wanted to see that scene!", following the TV special animations "The Quintessential Quintuplets ∽" and "The Quintessential Quintuplets ＊."
