The official Evangelion X account has announced the ticket sales for "Lines of EVANGELION" and released a special illustration for the Hong Kong exhibition, which is now drawing significant attention.
In this post, a new visual featuring the five pilots—Shinji Ikari, Rei Ayanami, Asuka Shikinami Langley, Mari Makinami Illustrious, and Kaworu Nagisa—was unveiled. Tickets for the Hong Kong exhibition, which is less than a month away, are currently on sale. The "Lines of EVANGELION (新世紀福音戰士展:線)" exhibition will run from May 23 to July 12 at INCUBASE Arena B2, Chong Hing Square, Mong Kok, Hong Kong.
In the image, the five pilots stand together against the backdrop of a neon-lit city at night. They are dressed in fashion that evokes a retro atmosphere: Shinji in a striped shirt and loose pants, Rei in a patterned vest, Asuka in a red checkered dress, Mari in a red polka-dot skirt on a purple background, and Kaworu in a black jacket.
Evangelion is an anime series that originated with the TV anime Neon Genesis Evangelion, broadcast on TV Tokyo in 1995. Since 2007, all four films in the Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition series have been released sequentially, with the story reaching its conclusion in the 2021 film Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time. It is a science fiction masterpiece depicting the struggle between teenagers who become pilots of the giant humanoid weapons known as Evangelion and the mysterious enemies called "Angels," and it continues to enjoy strong popularity worldwide.
In response to this post, fans have shared reactions such as, "Shinji is wearing such 'normie' clothes," "I can't stop shouting for these to be made into figures," and "The 80s Hong Kong vibe suits them so well...!"
