"The Apothecary Diaries" is an anime series based on the light novel of the same name by Hyuganatsu. It became a huge topic of conversation, gaining popularity for the mystery-solving drama led by Maomao, who works as a "poison tester" in the rear palace, as well as the comical interactions between Maomao and Jinshi. The TV anime has aired up to its second season, and it has been announced that the third season will air in two split cours starting from October 2026 and April 2027. Additionally, the series' first theatrical film is scheduled for release in December 2026.
