"The Apothecary Diaries" is an anime series based on the light novel of the same name by Hyuganatsu. The mystery drama featuring Maomao, who works as a "poison taster" in the Rear Palace, along with her comical interactions with Jinshi (CV: Takeo Ōtsuka), has gained immense popularity and become a major topic of discussion. The TV anime has aired up to its second season, and it has been announced that the third season will be broadcast in two split cours starting in October 2026 and April 2027. Additionally, the series' first theatrical film is scheduled for release in December 2026.
