"The Apothecary Diaries" is an anime based on the light novel of the same name by Hyuganatsu. It gained massive popularity and became a hot topic due to the mystery-solving drama led by Maomao, who works as a "poison tester" in the Rear Palace, as well as the comical interactions between her and Jinshi. The TV anime has aired up to its second season, and it has been announced that the third season will be broadcast in two split cours starting in October 2026 and April 2027. Additionally, the series' first-ever theatrical movie is scheduled for release in December 2026.
