"The Apothecary Diaries" is an anime based on the light novel series of the same name by Hyuganatsu. It became a huge topic of conversation due to the mystery-solving by Maomao, who works as a "poison tester" in the Rear Palace, and the comical interactions between her and Jinshi. The TV anime has aired up to its second season, and it has been announced that the third season will be a split two-course (split-cour) broadcast starting in October 2026 and April 2027. Additionally, the series' first theatrical film is scheduled for release in December 2026.
