"The Apothecary Diaries" is an anime based on the light novel series of the same name by Hyuganatsu. The series gained massive popularity and became a hot topic thanks to the mystery-solving drama featuring Maomao, who works as a "poison tester" in the rear palace, and her comical interactions with Jinshi. The TV anime has aired up to its second season, and it has been announced that Season 3 will air in two split cours starting in October 2026 and April 2027. Additionally, the series' first-ever theatrical film is scheduled for release in December 2026.
