Currently available for marathon streaming, "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" is based on the manga of the same name by Kanehito Yamada (story) and Tsukasa Abe (art), serialized in "Weekly Shonen Sunday." Set in the world "after" the Demon King has been defeated, the story follows Frieren, an elf mage who has lived for over 1,000 years, as she embarks on a "journey to learn about people."

The original manga, which has surpassed 35 million copies in circulation, has won numerous awards including the "Manga Taisho 2021," the "25th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize" New Artist Prize, the "69th (2023) Shogakukan Manga Award," and the "48th Kodansha Manga Award" in the Shonen category. Following the first season in September 2023, the second season aired starting in January 2026. It has also been announced that the third season, the "Golden-Go (El Dorado) Arc," will begin broadcasting in October 2027.
