As part of the ongoing updates for the "The Cat and the Dragon" anime adaptation, the second "Pickup Key Visual," the second "Pickup PV," and the third round of character and cast information have been released.
The series is based on "The Cat and the Dragon" (Original Work: Amara / Original Character Design: Mai Okuma / Manga: Izumi Sasaki), currently published as both novels and comics by Takarajimasha. It is a highly popular fantasy work that depicts a mysterious bond between cats, humans, and a dragon raised by cats—a story that is heartwarming and, at times, a bit poignant.
The original work gained significant attention on the website Shousetsuka ni Narou (Let's Become a Novelist), where it achieved an unusual first-place daily ranking for a short story. To date, nine novel volumes, four bunko volumes, and twelve comic volumes have been released, with cumulative circulation surpassing 1.3 million copies (including novels, comics, and digital versions).
The newly released Pickup Key Visual 2: Cats and Humans focuses on the relationships between characters depicted in the series. Following the previous visual themed around the dragon and cats, this time the focus is shifted to the connection between cats and humans.
Depicted from left to right are pairs of cats and humans: Mama-nyan and Anne Rossa, Kurobane and Stan, and Shirotae and Gally. The artwork not only showcases each character's distinct personality but also serves as a single piece that reflects the omnibus format in which the story is told.
Additionally, the Pickup PV 2: Cats and Humans has also been released. This PV highlights the relationships between cats and humans, offering a glimpse into the stories that will unfold for each pair: Mama-nyan and Anne Rossa, Kurobane and Stan, and Shirotae and Gally.
Furthermore, the third round of character and cast information has been unveiled. Character visuals, profiles, and cast members for three unique human characters appearing in the work were released. Gally will be voiced by Atsumi Tanezaki, Anne Rossa by Chika Anzai, and Stan by Junya Enoki. Comments from each cast member have also been shared.
