It has been confirmed that the manga Would you like to be a tanuki? will receive a TV anime adaptation. Along with the announcement, a teaser visual, a teaser trailer, and a celebratory illustration and comment by the original creator, Tomo Nagawa, have been released.

Jun Kamiya, known for works such as Kingdom, will serve as the director for this series, and the animation production will be handled by Nippon Animation, which has produced classic titles like Rascal the Raccoon and Chibi Maruko-chan. The released teaser trailer showcases tanuki running around in nature, accompanied by music composed by Minako Seki.

【Introduction】
"Would you like to be a tanuki?" Koganemaru is a mysterious young man who suddenly appears before people. His true identity is a shape-shifting tanuki who goes around scouting humans to turn them into tanuki in order to increase the inhabitants of the mountain. Before long, interactions with Koganemaru and the other tanuki gradually melt away hardened hearts. This is a story about people who are tired of trying too hard, who begin to re-examine themselves through their encounters with the tanuki.
