On the official ABEMA Anime X account, the top 3 most commented scenes during the broadcast of "Akane-banashi" Episode 8 "Needs" have been announced.

"Akane-banashi" is based on the rakugo manga by Yuki Suenaga and Takamasa Moue, currently serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha). It is an authentic rakugo story following Akane Ōsaki, a young girl who grew up enchanted by her father's magical rakugo storytelling. Triggered by the events surrounding her father's "shin'uchi promotion exam," she dives into the world of rakugo herself, aiming and growing to reach the highest rank of "shin'uchi."

The intense drama of the storytellers who risk their lives for the art of spoken word has become a hot topic, earning high praise as a work that has carved out a new genre in shonen manga. The TV anime, which began broadcasting in April 2026, features a star-studded cast including Anna Nagase (as Akane Ōsaki), Takuya Eguchi (as Karashi Nerimaya), Rie Takahashi (as Hikaru Kōragi), and Akihisa Shiono (as Kaisei Arakawa). Attention is focused on the deep world of rakugo and the authentic drama depicted through animation.
