The ending theme for the TV anime The Ghost in the Shell has been set to "Blue" by MILLENNIUM PARADE. Along with this, the fourth promotional video featuring the song has been released.
This work is the latest installment in the Ghost in the Shell series, which has continued to influence the world through various adaptations, including movies and animations, since Masamune Shirow published the original manga in 1989. The animation production is handled by Science SARU. The broadcast will begin on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, across the Kansai TV and Fuji TV nationwide network.
MILLENNIUM PARADE, who is in charge of the ending theme, is led by Daiki Tsuneta of King Gnu, marking their continued participation in the series following Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045. "Blue" features internationally active artists Saya Gray and Daniel Caesar as featuring artists, making it a cross-border collaborative track.
The newly released fourth promotional video features the song ahead of its release, delivering an emotional video that hints at the inner lives and dramatic elements of the characters, centering on the protagonist, Motoko Kusanagi.
Furthermore, it has been decided that various events for this work will be held at "Anime Expo 2026" (July 2–5, local time), North America's largest anime event, held at the Los Angeles Convention Center in the United States.
On Saturday, July 4 (local time) at 2:45 PM, a premier screening of Episodes 1 and 2, along with a special panel, will take place at the JW Diamond Hall. Director Moko-chan, character designer and chief animation director Shuhei Handa, animation producer Kohei Shindo, producer Kengo Abe, and Takeshi Katsurada from the Young Magazine editorial department will take the stage to discuss the anime's content, the project's production status, and other latest information.
Additionally, an autograph session with director Moko-chan and Handa will be held the day before, on Friday, July 3, at 12:30 PM at the JW Marriott Gold Ballroom. Furthermore, during the event period, a special area will be set up at the Bandai Namco Filmworks booth (SH-2406) in the South Hall of the venue.
