Akane, Finally Taking the Stage in the Karaku Cup Finals, Claims 1st Place for Episode 9! Anime "Akane-banashi" Top 3 Most Commented Scenes

On the official ABEMA Anime X account, the Top 3 most commented scenes during the broadcast of Akane-banashi Episode 9, "The Performer," have been announced.

Akane-banashi is based on the rakugo manga by Yuki Suenaga and Takamasa Moue, currently serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump (Shueisha). The authentic rakugo story follows Akane Ōsaki, a young girl who grew up enchanted by her rakugo storyteller father's magical performances. Triggered by the events surrounding her father's "Shin'uchi (Master) Promotion Exam," she dives into the world of rakugo herself, growing as she aims for the highest rank of "Shin'uchi."

The passionate drama of storytellers risking their lives for the art of spoken word has generated a massive buzz, earning high praise as a work that has opened up a new genre in shonen manga. The TV anime, which began broadcasting in April 2026, features a star-studded cast including Anna Nagase (as Akane Ōsaki), Takuya Eguchi (as Karashi Nerimaya), Rie Takahashi (as Hikaru Kōragi), and Akihisa Shiono (as Kaisei Arakawa). Attention is focused on the deep world of rakugo and the authentic drama depicted through animation.

ABEMA conducted an independent survey of the scenes that gathered the most comments from viewers during Episode 9, "The Performer," which aired on Saturday, May 30. These have been released on the official ABEMA Anime X account as the "Top 3 Most Commented Scenes in Akane-banashi Episode 9."
