"Tarta Questioning Qifrey" Takes 1st Place! Top 3 Most Commented Scenes During the Broadcast of Anime "Witch Hat Atelier" Episode 9

On the official ABEMA Anime X account, the Top 3 most commented scenes during the broadcast of Witch Hat Atelier Episode 9 have been announced.

Witch Hat Atelier is based on the fantasy manga by Kamome Shirahama, currently serialized in Morning Two (Kodansha). Set in a world with the rule that "those who cannot use magic must not watch the moment a spell is cast," this high-fantasy work begins when Coco, a small-village girl who longs to be a witch, happens to see the magic of a young wizard named Qifrey and learns a "great secret."

The meticulously detailed world-building and beautiful artwork have generated a massive buzz, with the total circulation surpassing 7.5 million copies. The series has garnered high praise both domestically and internationally, winning numerous manga awards worldwide. The TV anime, which began broadcasting in April 2026, features a cast including Rena Motomura (as Coco) and Natsuki Hanae (as Qifrey), drawing much attention to the animated adaptation of this authentic fantasy.

ABEMA conducted an independent survey of the scenes that gathered the most comments from viewers during Episode 9, "The Nightmare Sinking into Black," which was broadcast one week ahead of the terrestrial TV airing on Monday, May 25. These have been released on the official ABEMA Anime X account as the "Top 3 Most Commented Scenes in Witch Hat Atelier Episode 9."
