"Space Brothers" reached its final chapter in the issue of "Morning" magazine released on June 11, bringing the curtain down on its 18-year and 10-month serialization. To mark the conclusion, the official Space Brothers X account posted an image displaying the covers from the start and end of the serialization side-by-side, accompanied by the comments "← Issue featuring Chapter 1 (2007)" and "Issue featuring the Final Chapter (2026) →."

Comparing the two covers, while the younger brother is shown in a spacesuit in the first chapter, the older brother is depicted in a dress shirt and tie. On the other hand, on the cover of the final chapter, both of them are proudly wearing spacesuits, straddling road bikes with radiant expressions, offering a glimpse into the journey they have walked and their growth.

"Space Brothers," created by Chūya Koyama, is a human drama depicting the story of the Nanba brothers, Mutta (voiced by Hiroaki Hirata) and Hibito (voiced by KENN), who made a promise in their childhood to become astronauts, following them as they aim for space while walking their respective paths.

In response to the conclusion of the long-running story and these deeply moving two covers, fans have expressed emotional reactions regarding the characters' changes and the history of the work, with comments such as, "Both of them have become so incredibly cool! Especially Mucchan! He’s become a truly handsome and reliable man," and "Like with any manga, I absolutely love comparing the art to see how the author's style has evolved." Furthermore, many voices have conveyed gratitude for the serialization so far and deep love for the work, with comments like, "It showed me so many dreams, and it was a work that gives me the power to keep dreaming big and making them come true," sparking a massive response.
