"I focused on the paint job and modeling!" Outstanding quality homemade staff in this Fern cosplay from "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End"

"Comic Market 107" was held at Tokyo Big Sight on December 30–31, 2025. Along with photos of Mugu-shi, who participated in a cosplay of Fern from "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End", we asked them in an interview about what they focused on for the cosplay and what they would like to try in the future.

——Thank you for taking the time for this interview following "Wonder Festival 2025 [Winter]"! What inspired you to cosplay as Fern from "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" this time?

Mugu-shi (titles omitted below): I fell in love with the series after watching the anime, and Fern is my favorite character because she is so cute.

——What is your favorite part of this cosplay?

Mugu-shi: My proudest achievement is the homemade staff! I couldn't find anything commercially available with a satisfying level of quality, so I just decided to make it myself (lol). This is the second time I've made a staff, but this time I really focused on the paint job and modeling to make it look just like the original!

——When and how did you first encounter "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End", and what do you find most appealing about it?

Mugu-shi: It all started when I watched the first season of the anime on Netflix. I've always loved Nordic-style fantasy, and as expected, I got completely hooked. I think the story and music are especially wonderful in this series.
