[Photos/Images] "An Ominous Low Perspective..."—MAPPA's 15th Anniversary Illustration for "Chainsaw Man The Movie Reze Arc" Prompts Fans to Say, "The Official Team Is Cursing Us Forever" 1st

The first installment of the "MAPPA 15th Anniversary Key Visual" has been released on MAPPA's official X account, sparking a huge buzz. This announcement marks the beginning of a special project celebrating the 15th anniversary of the company's founding, drawing immense interest from fans, primarily on social media.

In the post, a newly drawn visual for "Chainsaw Man The Movie Reze Arc" was unveiled. Shoichi handled the illustration, Misaki Nakano was in charge of coloring, Taichi Uchima did the background, and Yusuke Tannawa took charge of photography. This commemorative key visual is planned up to a third installment, and information will be rolled out on a special website and other platforms in the future.

The released visual depicts Reze (CV: Reina Ueda), a character who holds an important key to the story. It features a unique composition captured from an extremely low perspective, with ominous signs and hidden details scattered throughout the screen.

The anime "Chainsaw Man" is a dark fantasy work based on the manga of the same name by Tatsuki Fujimoto. The protagonist is Denji (CV: Kikunosuke Toya), a boy who lives as a devil hunter alongside Pochita (CV: Shiori Izawa), the "Chainsaw Devil," to repay a massive debt left behind by his parents. Although he is betrayed and killed once, he makes a contract with Pochita to be resurrected as "Chainsaw Man," and goes on to fight various devils as a devil hunter for Public Safety Special Division 4.

In response to this post, cries of surprise and admiration arose on social media, such as "To think they're trying to make us cry with just this one picture," and "There are too many hidden details in places we can't see, the official team is practically cursing us forever." Additionally, many comments expressing complex emotions regarding the ominous atmosphere and sadness read from the illustration were received, such as "At first glance, it looks lovely, showing Reze excited and looking forward to a festival, but the low perspective and other things hint at something unsettling here and there..." and "My feelings of happiness and bittersweet sadness are all mixed up..."
