[Photos/Images] "MAPPA Is Getting Too Serious It's Scary" Specially Drawn Illustration of Nobara Kugisaki from "Jujutsu Kaisen" Becomes a Hot Topic, Described as "Making Me Cry" and "Beautiful" 1st

On the official X account of the anime production studio MAPPA, a newly drawn visual for "Jujutsu Kaisen" has been unveiled as the third installment of the "MAPPA 15th Anniversary Key Visuals," garnering massive attention.

The released visual depicts Nobara Kugisaki (CV: Asami Seto), the heroine of the series, walking with a dignified expression against the backdrop of an underpass tunnel where light reflects off the wet road surface. Vibrant graffiti art is painted on the tunnel walls, within which the words "JUJUTSU KAISEN" can also be spotted. With the red light and pale illumination piercing through the darkness, along with neatly lined-up bicycles, the meticulous background perfectly matches Nobara's presence, creating a piece that feels beautiful yet somehow ominous.

"Jujutsu Kaisen" is a dark fantasy anime adapted from the manga by Gege Akutami, with animation production handled by MAPPA. It follows Yūji Itadori (CV: Junya Enoki), a high school student who swallowed the finger of the Special Grade Cursed Object "Ryōmen Sukuna," harboring a curse within his own soul to exorcise "Curses"—monsters born from negative human emotions—as he throws himself into harsh battles alongside his comrades. Its stylish action and unpredictable developments have garnered support from all over the world.

In response to this newly drawn visual, Hitsujibungaku, the band that performed the ending theme for the second season of the TV anime, "Shibuya Incident," posted a quote retweet with the comment, "We would like to express our gratitude once again for being able to be involved in such a wonderful work." Passionate praise has been pouring in from fans as well, with comments praising the overwhelming quality such as "MAPPA is putting so much effort into this, it's almost terrifying...", "Is MAPPA going all out with only women??", "The heroine relay from Chainsaw Man and Attack on Titan is wonderful", "Following Reze, this makes me cry", "Nobara looks so dignified", and "What a gorgeous illustration."
