On the official X account for Nippon Sangoku The Three Nations of the Crimson Sun, a special illustration by the original manga author Ikka Matsuki was released to commemorate the broadcast and streaming of the anime's final episode, garnering significant attention. Online, fans are showing immense excitement, expressing deep emotion over the beautiful and touching sight of the two characters depicted, along with boundless gratitude for Season 1 and high anticipation for Season 2.

The account reported that the "Seii Seisei Arc" of the TV anime Nippon Sangoku The Three Nations of the Crimson Sun had reached its finale, expressing gratitude to viewers by posting, "TV Anime '#NipponSangoku' Seii Seisei Arc -The End- Thank you so much for watching!" Furthermore, they unveiled the special illustration newly drawn by the original creator, Matsuki, to mark the final episode, calling out to fans, "Please continue to support both the manga and the anime!"

The released image features a monochrome illustration of the two main characters, Aoteru Misumi (voiced by Kenshō Ono) and Saki Higashimachi (voiced by Asami Seto). Aoteru is dressed in a school uniform with a standing collar, while Saki looks stunning as a bride clad in a wedding dress and veil. They are gently embracing and holding hands with smiles on their faces. In the background, panels from the original manga are faintly layered, while the words "Japan" and "Three Nations" are boldly arranged in vibrant blue text across the front, with the English letters "n i p p o n s a n g o k u" designed in the center. Pink flower petals flutter across the entire image, completing a gorgeous and dramatic piece.

Nippon Sangoku The Three Nations of the Crimson Sun is a near-future, Sengoku-period epic fantasy based on the manga by Matsuki. The story is set in a future Japan that has collapsed due to nuclear war, natural disasters, and political corruption, plunging the nation into a new Three Kingdoms era where three divided factions contend for hegemony. It follows the rise of Aoteru, a youth who starts as a humble local official and aims for the "re-unification of Japan," using his vast knowledge and eloquent rhetoric as weapons. The series boasts high popularity as a full-fledged military chronicle woven together by a unique linguistic flair, heavy political and military drama, and characters with intensely powerful personalities.

In response to this post, fans left heartwarming comments deeply moved by the situation in the illustration, such as, "Aoteru in his uniform and Saki in her wedding dress. Seeing these two, who were never supposed to cross paths, embracing each other almost brings me to tears." Others highly praised the work, saying, "This was the first anime in a long time that I got incredibly hooked on." There were also passionate demands for a sequel, parodying a line from the character Denki Taira (voiced by Takashi Nagasako): "Announce the production of Season 2 already, within five seconds!" The illustration has triggered a massive wave of reactions.
