Original Concept and Screenplay: Akiko Nogi

Director Katagiri, whose talent overflows; producer Yamanaka, brimming with vitality; the dependable President Wada; and WIT STUDIO. With this reassuring team, we have finally made it this far. The total meeting and work hours since 2020 have been so immense it makes me nauseous, and the staff count is enormous. Making anime is truly hard work—I'm experiencing fear that goes beyond awe. In pursuit of expression that only anime can achieve, we take on the brain and the world, set in the large-scale synchrotron radiation facility I had long admired. Stay alive. Look forward to it!

Director: Takashi Katagiri

Something that happens only once in a lifetime has occurred. I got to make an anime written by Nogi. I think many people quietly held that kind of hope. I was one of them. I remember the emotion of reading the scenario for the first time as if it were yesterday. And I envy all of you who will watch this anime from now on. To think that you can have the experience I had! LONA is fascinating. Please wait for it with great anticipation!

Original Character Design: Posuka Demizu

I worked on this hoping to create characters who live and breathe here. Considering the designs while exploring the characters' inner selves was a difficult process, but one that drew me deeply into the work. At the start of my involvement, I was so struck by the world-building that I couldn't stop reading the script from the very beginning!

Character Design: Yudai Iino

When I was set to be involved in LONA as character designer, I was truly surprised. At the same time, I worried whether I could handle the role. But as I deepened my understanding of this work, I was able to feel positive about it. Please give LONA your warm support.

Music: Hiroko Sebu

In recent years, I happened to be repeatedly and deeply impressed by how interesting expression in animation can be, and I had been thinking I wanted to do more music for animation—when Nogi invited me to this project at the Academy Awards ceremony. What a wonderful twist of fate! Surrounded by everyone at WIT STUDIO, Director Katagiri, and people who simply enjoy creating, I can't help but have fun too!

Animation Producer: Kazuki Yamanaka

It's already been six years since the project launched in 2020. We started out wondering how on earth to turn it into visuals, but we held so many meetings and exchanged so much. It has finally taken shape, and we're nearly ready to show it to everyone. The production team is still hard at work. Led by Katagiri and Iino, we deliberate and take on challenges every day so as not to be outdone by the power of Nogi's screenplay. Happily, many reassuring and creative staff members have gathered. With a wonderful production team, we should be able to deliver this with confidence! Ten more months!!! Please!!! wait!!!!

Planning: Joji Wada (President and Representative Director, WIT STUDIO)

For the story written by Akiko Nogi, a truly large number of comrades have gathered. A story of people trying to "solve a great mystery by analyzing something very small," born through research at "SPring-8" in Harima, Hyogo Prefecture, is about to begin. Each piece of footage taking shape little by little surpasses my imagination, and every day I'm amazed, thinking "this is really great!" In WIT STUDIO's 15th year since its founding, we bring you the original TV anime LONA!

Ao: Minako Kotobuki

I'm Minako Kotobuki, and I'll be playing Ao. I'm also one of the people captivated by LONA. During the audition, Director Katagiri and screenwriter Nogi gave me a passionate and warm message about their commitment to this work, and I was moved. To think that in an original work, this many people can respect one another and run toward the same goal. Recording has begun, and I'm happy to have become part of that team. Please join the LONA family too.

Sango: Anna Nagase

When I first read the project proposal at the audition, I was drawn to words like "brain," "the thoughts of the dead," and "intense light," and I was instantly pulled into the work's worldview. I remember my heart racing with anticipation for this unknown story. Also, when I learned that the original concept and screenplay were by Akiko Nogi, my desire to take part grew even stronger, and I gave the audition my all. I'm very happy to be able to play Sango like this. I myself am very much looking forward to seeing what fate Sango will follow from here. Please look forward to it, everyone!

Mugen: Fuka Izumi

I'm Fuka Izumi, voicing Mugen. Mugen! Just what on earth are you...!!! Big and adorable! With a story development that is exciting and tickles the desire to theorize, in this world where "something" seems to be lurking—a story of people connecting and weaving things together, and the developments that surely arise because of that "something"... I'm very much looking forward to creating this work together with all the top creators, and to having everyone watch it! Thank you in advance!!!
