The ending theme for the TV anime "Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia," which will begin broadcasting on Saturday, July 4, with a 1-hour premiere featuring the first two episodes back-to-back, has been decided as Ziyoou Vachi's new song "Hoshi." In addition, ahead of the premiere broadcast, the synopsis and advance cuts for Episode 1, a pre-broadcast PV, and the full view of the main visual have been released all at once.
This work is a highly anticipated title that was selected for the official competition in the TV Films category at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France. The original manga by Tomato Soup, currently serialized in Akita Shoten's "Souffle," is a court story set in 13th-century Mongolia. It boasts achievements such as winning 1st place in the female category of Takarajimasha's "Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2023," ranking in the "Manga Taisho" for two consecutive years in 2023 and 2024, and winning the Grand Prize in the Comic Division at the 55th Japan Cartoonists Association Awards. The animation production is handled by Science SARU.
The newly released pre-broadcast PV depicts the destiny that Shitara begins to walk and her stance in confronting the empire. Furthermore, the full view of the main visual, revealed for the first time, depicts gers on the Mongolian plains alongside a blue sky and a river, with a composition that suggests the expansion of a story where the determination of Shitara and Töregene will eventually ripple across the entire Mongol Empire.
Ziyoou Vachi's new song "Hoshi," which has been chosen as the ending theme, was newly written specifically for this work. It has been crafted into a deep and powerful piece that aligns closely with the mental landscape of the protagonist, Shitara, who moves forward using wisdom as her weapon while resisting a harsh destiny.
[Comment from Avu-chan (Ziyoou Vachi)]
A desire for revenge. The feelings held by the protagonist, who stands alone amidst the turbulent times depicted in the world of this work. I felt a "star" in the sheer magnitude of it. I hope you can enjoy it in a way that permeates your heart!
[Comment from the original creator, Tomato Soup]
It feels as though I am listening to their story told beneath a tent reached on a starry night. This song, which speaks to us saying "Don't forget," is tinged with sadness yet filled with strength. Thank you very much for providing such a wonderful piece of music.
■Premiere / Episode 1
