Production of the second season of the TV anime "Witch Hat Atelier" has been confirmed. On Monday, June 29, the final episode, Episode 13, was broadcast, and following the end of the broadcast, the announcement of the Season 2 production was made alongside the release of a newly drawn end card by the original creator, Kamome Shirahama.
To commemorate the confirmation of Season 2's production, comments from Shirahama and Director Ayumu Watanabe have also arrived. Shirahama expressed her anticipation, saying, "With our hearts full of expectation, please join me in waiting for this crystallization of dedication and passion created by so many wizards!" Director Watanabe shared his enthusiasm, saying, "New locations to appear. Characters that Coco and her friends will encounter. Numerous spells whose meanings deepen as they learn about the world...! We will also pour even more of our hearts into this, painting it to the very end while feeling excited for the adventure."
Along with this, the jacket illustration for the second Blu-ray volume, to be released on September 30, has been unveiled. It is a beautiful new illustration drawn by Shirahama, depicting Qifrey and Olruggio lying on the floor. Note that the first Blu-ray volume, featuring Coco, Agott, Tetia, and Richeh, will be released on July 29.
"Witch Hat Atelier" is a classic magic fantasy work currently serialized in Kodansha's "Morning Two." The cumulative circulation of the manga has surpassed 9 million copies worldwide, and in 2020, it won the "Best U.S. Edition of International Material—Asia" at the U.S. Eisner Awards. The animation production is handled by BUG FILMS.
