An illustration has been released on manga artist Reiji Miyajima's official X account along with the announcement that Season 6 of the anime "Rent-A-Girlfriend" has been greenlit, sparking buzz among fans.
Miyajima posted an image along with a message of gratitude: " Thanks to everyone's support, Season 6 of the Rent-A-Girlfriend anime has been greenlit! Please continue to support us!"
In the released image, a black-and-white illustration of the protagonist, Kazuya Kinoshita (CV: Shun Horie), and the heroine, Chizuru Mizuhara (CV: Sora Amamiya), is drawn underneath the handwritten text "Season 6 Greenlit! TV Anime Kanokari." In the illustration, Kazuya, wearing a swirl-patterned T-shirt with a surprised look on his face, makes a "5" with an open palm using his left hand. Standing next to him, Chizuru, wearing round glasses and a cat-patterned hoodie, holds up her right index finger to make a "1," with the two of them posing together to represent Season "6."
The anime "Rent-A-Girlfriend" is a romantic comedy based on the manga of the same name by Miyajima, currently serialized in "Weekly Shonen Magazine." The story follows Kazuya, a pathetic college student who, after being dumped by his first girlfriend, uses a "rental girlfriend" service out of loneliness. There, he meets the stunning and perfect Chizuru Mizuhara, leading to a series of events where he ends up lying to his family and friends that she is his actual girlfriend.
In response to this post, many celebratory comments poured in from fans, such as "I love how they're doing '5+1'! Looking forward to the next season," "The newly drawn Chizuru in a hoodie is so cute," and "The original manga is still way ahead. Now that we've come this far, I want them to produce as many seasons as it takes to reach the finale."
