Following that, in the "My Anime Resume" segment, the show delved deeper into Motomura's anime journey. As the catalyst for her aspiring to become a voice actress, she cited Natsuki Hanae's performance in "Tokyo Ghoul," specifically "the screaming during the torture scene," passionately explaining, "It shocked me because it felt so incredibly realistic, as if it wasn't acting but actually happening." She also shared a heartwarming and raw anecdote about the anime film "Fortune Favors Lady Nikuko," which was the first time she landed a role through an audition. Upon receiving the acceptance call, she broke down in tears, and later, faced with the difficulty of voice recording, she wept heavily again after returning to her hotel room.
Now, in "Witch Hat Atelier," Motomura has achieved her dream of co-starring with her idol, Hanae, playing characters in a master-and-apprentice relationship. Reflecting on their time working together, she expressed profound joy, saying, "Watching him perform right beside me made me realize that the kind of acting I want to pursue hasn't changed." She also revealed that when she told Hanae face-to-face, "You were the reason I chose to become a voice actor," he responded with the warm words, "I'm so happy to hear that."
In the middle of the program, Sankaku Head, who confessed that "this is my first time showing my face on television," volunteered to appear in the studio to coincide with the special feature on his latest work, "My Darling Devilish Daughter." In the studio, Nakamura and Motomura performed a live script reading. Regarding the secret behind the birth of this work, he confessed that it all started when his editor told him, "I want to see a manga that only the current Sankaku-san can draw." He explained, "I modeled it after my daughter, who was a first grader at the time, so it's quite close to an essay," and shared his unique manga creation technique: "In a weekly serialization, if you model characters after real people close to you, they start moving on their own."
Furthermore, the program introduced "the warm yet occasionally heartbreaking bond between father and daughter" as a point they uniquely selected as a "Might-Get-An-Anime-Adaptation Point." When a poignant scene was read aloud—where the daughter's loneliness explodes on Mother's Day, causing her to turn into a demon, and the father faces her head-on—both Iwai and Nakamura were deeply moved, describing it as "precious" and "hitting you right in the feels."
Additionally, a special project was held where Sankaku Head drew an illustration in real-time during the broadcast. The completed artwork featured cute caricatures capturing the distinct traits of Iwai, Nakamura, and Motomura, as well as Tokui, who was absent. The studio went wild with excitement, shouting, "This is going to be a family heirloom!"
In the anime news segment, a special VTR comment from Anna Nagase (voicing Akane Osaki) and Takuya Eguchi (voicing Karashi Renmaya) from the buzzworthy rakugo anime "Akane-banashi" was introduced. It was revealed that during the recording of the rakugo scenes, a total of four microphones are used—including front, up/down, and rear shotgun mics. Eguchi commented on the unique voice-recording environment of this work, saying, "I want everyone to pay attention to the realism and three-dimensional sense of space that is born precisely because we used four mics." "Akane-banashi" is currently available for advance streaming on ABEMA every Saturday at 24:00, with all episodes up to the latest one free for unlimited viewing.
In next week's broadcast on June 19th (#89), voice actress Fairouz Ai will appear live as a guest from the anime "Go For It, Nakamura-kun!!". The show will deliver an exclusive inside-look feature on "Drive," the animation studio behind the series.
