Director FROGMAN Reveals the Truth Behind "Eagle Talon's" "Suntory Non-Sponsorship Incident": "We Really Didn't Receive Any Money..."

On ABEMA, #89 of "SHIBUYA ANIME BASE (#ShibuAni)" was broadcast live on the "ABEMA Anime Channel" on Friday, June 19th, from 9:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

This episode featured MC Yuki Iwai of Haraichi, along with assistants Sora Tokui and Shugo Nakamura, and welcomed voice actors Fairouz Ai and Tenshin Hanataro as guests. The program delivered a jam-packed lineup, including features on buzzworthy anime, an inside look into a production studio, and surprising anime news.

In the first half of the program, a special feature was dedicated to the anime "Go For It, Nakamura!", which stars Fairouz Ai. Speaking passionately about the show's appeal, Fairouz highlighted its worldview where "homosexuality is not treated as anything unusual, and everyone respects one another," adding, "It’s wonderful how it’s 'just a story about having a crush.'" She also promoted the show's accessibility, saying, "Since it's basically an episodic series, you can enjoy it casually, like thinking, 'Maybe I'll watch it today while having a meal.'"

Fairouz, who plays the timid fujoshi Hifumi Kawamura, confessed her unique approach to the audition: "Since I naturally use abdominal breathing, my vocal pressure tends to be quite strong. So, I tried not to use my core as much and consciously took more breaths, speaking only with the upper register of my voice." She shared a delightful anecdote that after passing, the director praised her, saying, "Your high voice when you lowered the vocal pressure was very close to the image of a girl from a Showa-era anime." Furthermore, she introduced "the scene where they get locked in the gym storage room" as her favorite, sharing a behind-the-scenes recording story: "Only three of us shared the microphone, which emphasized the feeling of a confined space and allowed me to truly connect with the characters' emotions."
