TV Anime The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 5 Confirmed for 2027! Teaser PV and Visual Unveiled, Director''s Return and Comment Announced

The fifth season of the TV anime The Rising of the Shield Hero, Season 5, has been confirmed to air in 2027. A teaser PV and teaser visual have also been released alongside the announcement.

The news was announced during a Crunchyroll industry panel (held on July 3, local time) at Anime Expo 2026, currently taking place in Los Angeles, USA.

The teaser visual is a striking monochrome illustration of protagonist Naofumi, the other Four Cardinal Heroes, and the Hakuko siblings standing back to back, overlaid with a red logo created specifically for this announcement.

It was also announced that Hitoshi Haga, who directed Season 3 and Season 4, will continue as director for this installment. Director Haga's full comment is as follows:

“Naofumi and his companions have steadily prepared alongside the other three heroes and their new allies for the approaching battle with the Phoenix. All of us on the staff are putting our hearts into creating Naofumi and the others' new adventure so that everyone can fully enjoy it.”
