Shangri-La Frontier Season 3 to Premiere in January 2027! Teaser PV Released—with Sunraku Surprisingly Nowhere to be Seen

It has been announced that the 3rd Season of the TV anime Shangri-La Frontier will premiere in January 2027, airing every Sunday at 5:00 PM on the MBS/TBS nationwide network of 28 stations. Additionally, a teaser PV has been released, featuring footage where the main protagonist, Sunraku, is surprisingly nowhere to be seen.

Shangri-La Frontier is a TV anime adaptation of the manga that achieved an unprecedented "four crowns" in the readers' poll of the ongoing Weekly Shonen Magazine and has surpassed a cumulative global circulation of 17 million copies. The stage shifts from Shangri-La Frontier to Galaxia Heroes: Chaos. A highly popular episode finally begins, where Sunraku, Pencilgon, and OiKatzo challenge the strongest professional gamer group. The 1st Season of the TV anime aired from October 2023 to March 2024, followed by the 2nd Season from October 2024 to March 2025. Now, the 3rd Season is set to begin broadcasting in January 2027.

The newly released teaser PV is set in Galaxia Heroes: Chaos (commonly known as GH:C). The two characters battling are Yggdraiha—a villain controlled by Megumi Natsume (also known as Nu2meg) of the Japanese team Nitro Squad—and Lucas from the American team STAR RAIN. Nu2meg’s villainous performance fits her perfectly, and her loud, cackling laughter makes her look and sound like a textbook antagonist. Speaking of "playing the villain perfectly," there is another female avatar styled like a magician, wearing a red top hat and a red long jacket. The voice coming from that avatar is unmistakably Arthur Pencilgon—Towa Amane, participating in the GGC as "No Name."

The video raises expectations for how Nu2meg and No Name will play their game as "villains" against the reigning champions, the American team. Attention is also drawn to the bold choice not to show Rakurō Hizutome, who participates as the main protagonist Sunraku (under the name No Face) (※ Rakurō Hizutome will appear later on).
