Arms Linked, Fans Say 'Kazuya and Chizuru Are Already an Old Married Couple'! Rent-a-Girlfriend's Reiji Miyajima Unveils 9th Anniversary Illustration

On July 12, manga artist Reiji Miyajima announced on his official X account that the manga Rent-a-Girlfriend had reached its 9th anniversary. Miyajima wrote, "Today marks the 9th anniversary of Rent-a-Girlfriend. My heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported it," and shared a newly drawn commemorative illustration, sparking a huge response.

The published image is a warm illustration featuring the full cast gathered together, accompanied by a handwritten message reading, "Thank you for your support, as always." At the center are Kazuya Kinoshita (voiced by Shun Horie), standing arm in arm with Chizuru Mizuhara (voiced by Sora Amamiya), who wears a beaming smile, while Kazuya blushes with a slightly surprised expression. Around them are heroines Mami Nanami (voiced by Aoi Yuki), Ruka Sarashina (voiced by Nao Toyama), Sumi Sakurasawa (voiced by Rie Takahashi), and Mini Yaemori (voiced by Yu Serizawa), along with Kazuya's friends and family, all coming together in a lively celebration of the 9th anniversary.

Rent-a-Girlfriend is a hugely popular romantic comedy manga by Miyajima. Since its serialization began in Weekly Shonen Magazine in July 2017, the story has won fans over with its chaotic romantic antics, which kick off when a hopeless male college student turns to a "rental girlfriend" dating agency service. The comic's cumulative print run has surpassed 15 million copies, and following the first season of the TV anime in 2020, the series has been adapted through a fifth season, with a sixth season already announced. In 2022, it was also adapted into a live-action drama and a smartphone game, maintaining strong popularity across a wide range of media.
