The official X (formerly Twitter) account for The Apothecary Diaries anime has posted photos of a train car decorated in collaboration with the Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair (KYOMAF), sparking an enthusiastic response from fans. The post shows the fully wrapped train car, both inside and out, featuring character illustrations and the latest series updates.
According to the official account's post, the train will run on the Karasuma Line of the Kyoto Municipal Subway until October 9 (planned). The post also includes a link for checking operating hours, along with information on advance ticket sales for KYOMAF.
The photos show large illustrations on the train's exterior of Maomao (voiced by Aoi Yuki) holding a folding fan and Jinshi (voiced by Takeo Ōtsuka) holding a traditional umbrella. Inside, the "Four Seasons with Maomao and Jinshi" visuals are used, including window decals showing the pair reaching for persimmons. Large posters for the film are also displayed on the doors, while the seat partitions are decorated with stickers of the characters in a chibi style.
The Apothecary Diaries anime is based on the hit original work by Natsu Hyuuga and has expanded into a wide range of media adaptations. As shown on the poster in the photos, the latest updates include the TV anime's third season, airing in a split two-cour format in October 2026 and April 2027, as well as the film The Apothecary Diaries: The Deceased Empress' Treasure, set to open on December 11, 2026.
The post has drawn reactions on social media such as "I want to live here," "I'm definitely watching this," "It's so nice that the four seasons illustrations are used to decorate the train," and "I really, really want to go ride it."
