The synopsis and stills for Episode 8 of the anime Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia have been released.

The series is based on the popular manga by Tomato Soup, currently serialized in Akita Shoten's web manga magazine Souffle. The protagonist, Sitara (voiced by Akira Sekine), loses her mother and is taken far from her homeland, but after she is taken in by a family of scholars she comes to understand the potential and the value of knowledge, and deepens her learning. When the Mongol Empire takes everything from her, however, Sitara resolves to use the one thing she has left, her wisdom, to gain the favor of the royal family and bring the empire down from within.

The series is currently airing every Saturday at 23:30 in the late-night IMAnimation anime block on TV Asahi's 24-station national network.

Episode 8, "Grand Khatun Boraqchin" [Synopsis]
Recognized for her ability to read and write, Sitara is assigned to assist with the work of the scribes, and through the mediation of Möge, Ögedei's fourth consort, she is granted an audience with Boraqchin, the First Empress (Grand Khatun). Seeing that Boraqchin is ill, Sitara uses the knowledge she has gathered until now to correctly identify the cause and the treatment, and so succeeds in winning the empress' trust. Behind the scenes, she begins to set in motion her plan to divide the Mongol Empire from within.
