"All Seven Brothers Are Handsome!" The Seven Knights of the Marronnier Kingdom Confirmed to Air From October, Fans Respond With Delight

The anime The Seven Knights of the Marronnier Kingdom will begin airing on NHK Educational TV (E-Tele) on October 3 at 6:25 p.m. Along with the announcement, a main visual showing the townscape seen from the castle together with the seven brothers, as well as the first trailer, were released. The news drew delighted reactions on social media, with comments such as "Seriously? Yes!" and "I'm looking forward to it."

The series is an anime adaptation of the manga of the same name by Nao Iwamoto, which has been serialized in Monthly Flowers (Shogakukan) since 2016. The adaptation comes as the manga reaches the milestone of 10 years in serialization. Eleven volumes have been published to date, and the manga has also been translated and released in countries such as France and Spain, winning a broad readership overseas.

Set in the Marronnier Kingdom, which lies at the center of eight nations, the story is a fantasy romance in which seven brothers serving as knights are each sent as an ambassador to one of the seven surrounding countries and find the partner destined for them. With its sweeping worldbuilding and delicate portrayal of emotion, the work resonates with readers across a wide range of generations.

The cast for the seven brothers at the heart of the story has now been announced as well. Kengo Takanashi voices the eldest brother, Nemukunai; Makoto Tanikawa the second brother, Hakuai; Haruki Ishiya the third brother, Atsugariya; Satoshi Inomata the fourth brother, Samugariya; Kiyoto Mizuno the fifth brother, Kemono Tsukai; Taishi Murata the sixth brother, Tsurugi Jiman; and Reiji Kawashima the seventh brother, Harapeko. Akeno Watanabe voices the brothers' mother, Baribara, while Sho Hayami serves as the narrator who watches over the story.

The first trailer depicts the opening scene of the story, in which Baribara, the female general who commands the kingdom's knights, asks her seven sons about the cause they serve, offering a glimpse of a grand drama of love and adventure about to begin.

The anime adaptation has drawn enthusiastic responses from readers of the original manga on social media, including "Seriously? Yes!," "I'm looking forward to it," "The manga is wonderful, so I can't wait for the anime," and "All seven brothers are handsome!," with anticipation building ahead of the autumn premiere.
